Matrix room automations and model switching

Matrix room automations

An automation can now run when someone posts in a shared Matrix room that Indent is in, such as a Beeper group chat. Each new top-level message can start a session, and Indent replies in that message's thread.

In Automations, choose a room for the trigger. By default anyone in the room triggers the automation. To limit it, select the room members whose messages should start a run. Mentioning Indent in the room still works for everyone.

Switch to any model mid-session

You can now switch an existing session to a model from any family, such as from Claude to GPT, and continue with the same history. Open the model picker in the composer and choose a model your organization allows.

Choose reasoning effort

On models with more than one reasoning effort level, the composer's model menu now has an effort control. Your choice stays when you switch models.

New sessions start private

Sessions you start in the Indent app are now private to you. To bring teammates in, click Share in the session header, then add people or open the session to everyone in your organization. Slack channel threads are still visible to your organization.

Archive a session for yourself

Archiving now removes a session from your own lists only. Teammates' lists don't change, and Indent keeps working on the session.

Also this week

  • Press ⌘F (Ctrl+F on Windows) in a session to search the whole conversation, including older messages scrolled out of view.
  • Press ↑ in an empty composer to bring back a message you sent earlier, or to take back a queued message and edit it.
  • On iPhone, the composer stays above the keyboard and the home indicator.
